GEST Recruitment

The GE team is offering 50 programmes with over 150 sessions of talks/workshops/screenings/field trips each semester and yet we are a very small team. Our programmes would not have been completed without the help of GEST (GE Student Team)! We are the true believers and practitioners of Crowdsourcing and Sharing Economy! If you are good at or interested in any fields, join us! Since you guys have so many exciting ideas, we would also love to work with you to create something new together. All—local, international, undergraduate, postgraduate students—are welcome!

  • HKU Global Kitchen

HKU prides itself on its international community for it is a mini globe with students from over 100 countries. In this event, you can taste the food from another continent for the first time, and cook the home cuisine which you have been dearly missed.

We are recruiting student chefs from diverse backgrounds, each group (from the same region) will be provided with a maximum of HK$300 subsidy, on a reimbursement basis.

  • Happy Thursday – Tea from Around the World

International student hosts are invited to share their favourite tea and snacks from their hometown, and tell stories of their cultures.

We are now recruiting student hosts to curate this event. A maximum of HK$200 subsidy on a reimbursement basis and HK$100 remuneration for the host will be provided for each session.

Gatherland2001 can be a café, a gallery, a bookcrossing corner, and even a stage and live house… all defined by you! If you are interested in curating events at Gatherland, register to be member of GEST and stay tuned for the programme details!

  • Monthly Harvest Lunch

Freshly harvested veggie from our own HKU Rooftop Farm are prepared and served by GE student chefs on the first Monday of every month. Themes for this semester are: vegetarian/ vegan/ raw diets.

  • GEST Skills Sharing

Sharing is the next big thing! Apply to be a student instructor and teach us some cool stuff!
