Recent events in Taiwan, including the Sunflower Movement, the Taiwan local elections of 2014, the sit-in at Taiwan’s Ministry of Education, and the Kuomintang presidential candidate change, indicate changes in Taiwan’s political landscape. A third party force rooted in Taiwan’s civic movements has taken shape. This study tour guided students to understand Taiwan as it entered the election mode and witness the elections there.
